Three People Watching a Cock Fight

6256 · ca. 330-100 BCE (Hellenistic)

Made in ancient Amisos (present-day Samsun) along the Black Sea coast of Asia Minor, the relief is a rare example of a multi-figured terracotta group and may well have been inspired by a work in another medium. The child on the right mimics the pose of the famous statue of the "Weary Heracles" (Archaeological Museum, Naples, Italy).

For the latest information about this object, Three People Watching a Cock Fight, visit the Online Collection of the Walters Art Museum.
