Alabastron · 6th–4th century B.C.
Core-formed alabastron of opaque milky white glass wound with violet (manganese and cobalt) rods vertically combed to create an alternating white and violet zigzag design. The body is vertically lobed and the combing occurs along the divisions of the lobes. The white glass is in imitation of alabaster. A violet rim was trailed on and shaped. Two lug handles form loops at each side.
