Alabastron

Alabastron · 2nd–1st century B.C.
Core-formed, opaque black glass alabastron decorated with a vertically combed feather pattern in opaque white. A thread of white spirals around the neck up to and around the edge of the rim iindicates it was formed together with the body, rather than added separately as was typically done. The bottom of the vessel is also decorated with a spiraling thread of white. Two lug handles, one with a small nick, are on each side.
