A. act of a general, esp. piece of generalship, stratagem, X. Mem. 3.5.22 (pl.), Isoc. 12.78, Plb. 3.18.9, Onos. Praef. 7, etc.:—στρατηγήματα was the title of works by Polyaenus and Frontinus; cf. also BMus.Inscr. 1020 (Smyrna, i A.D.).
