A. ripe, of fruit, Thphr. CP 3.6.9 (Comp.), LXX Ge. 40.10, AP 12.185 (Strat.); of girls, opp. νέαι, v.l. in Ar. Ec. 896 ; παρθένοι Plu. Comp.Lyc.Num. 4, cf. Lyc. 15 ; φιλέουσι πέπειρος AP 12.9 (Strat.).
2. metaph., of persons, mild, πεπειροτέρους γεγονότας D.H. 9.49.
3. π. νοῦσος a disease come to its crisis, Hp. Acut. 39 ; also πεπειρότερον πτύελον more concocted, Id. Epid. 2.3.4.
