παρήορος

A. joined or hung beside : hence παρήορος (sc. ἵππος), horse which draws by the side of the regular pair (ξυνωρίς), outrunner, = σειραφόρος, Il. 16.471,474, D.H. 7.73.

II. lying along, outstretched, sprawling, ἔκειτο π. ἔνθα καὶ ἔνθα 11.7.156 ; ἀχρεῖον καὶ π. δέμας κεῖται A. Pr. 365.

III. metaph., reckless, senseless, οὔ τι π. οὐδ’ ἀεσίφρων Il. 23.603, cf. Theoc. l.c. ; π. ὄμμα τιταίνειν Tryph. 371 ; νόου παρήορος distraught, Archil. 56.5.
