ἐπιφρονέω

A. to be shrewd, prudent, only in part. fem. ἐπιφρονέουσα, = ἐπίφρων, Od. 19.385 (exc. that Pl. R. 424b substitutes it for the Verb in the Hom. phrase ἀοιδὴν μᾶλλον ἐπικλείουσ’ ἄνθρωποι).
