II. gnash together, ὀδόντας ἐμπεπρικώς having the teeth fixed in a bite, Id. 17.92, v. l. in Luc. Somn. 14; ἐ. γένυν Χαλινοῖς Opp. H. 5.186, cf. C. 2.261.
