Staute of Artemis (Colonna type)

1st century A.D.
The statue is missing her head, right hand and the little finger of her left hand. A worked area on the back of her right shoulder indicates that she once had a quiver, and a pin for its attachment is still in place. She wears a peplos belted high beneath the breasts, over a long himation and sandals. The goddess stands with her weight on her left leg, and rests her left hand on her hip.
