Red-Figure Cup (and 1 detached fragment)

This fragmentary cup has been reconstructed from fragments. In the tondo is a draped, bearded male figure (Dionysos?) moving to right; only part of his figure is preserved. He holds a horizontal staff in his right hand (thyrsos?). He wears a red wreath, and part of an inscription appears to the right of his face. The tondo border is a plain reserved line. On the exterior are scenes of revel. On one side, maenads move in a line to the right; they appear to be dancing. On the other side, which is more fragmentary, two satyrs pursue two maenads. There are numerous ancient repair holes over the body of the cup. On both sides of the exterior, there are inscriptions, but few of the letters are legible.
