Piriform Bucchero Oinochoe

Very low, conical base with subtle central concavity. Walls curve up and out to point of maximum diameter, which is above center. Rounded shoulder with simple moulding at junction with neck. Tall, thick, flaring neck. Broad lip with subtly articulated trefoil spout. Thick ribbon handle attached at lip and upper shoulder rises only very slightly above rim. Small, pointed knob at either side of handle at lip. At point of maximum diameter on body is a thick band of vertical incised lines bounded by incised horizontal bands. Black matte finish with little burnishing. Misfired to a dark tan color in places. Broken and mended with some buff-colored fill.
