Fragment partially preserves one side of a neck amphora (side A) showing a man, Kerberos (Cerberus), a column, and an old man. When complete, the scene presumably showed the encounter of Herakles and Kerberos, accompanied by Hermes and Hades, respectively. Hermes is partially preserved on the left edge (the brim of his petasos, part of his face, and his raised arm). The hindquarters of Kerberos, facing left, are preserved behind a Doric column. An old man stands behind Kerberos, his position on the porch identifies him as Hades. He holds a staff in his left hand and lifts his right hand behind his head. Herakles is not preserved, but likely stood behind Hermes. After Clark, A., CVA Malibu 1 (1988).
