Loom Weight with Aphrodite and Two Children

Loom Weight with Aphrodite and Two Children

3rd–2nd century B.C.
Discoid loom weight with two holes. On the front, two unclothed children frame Aphrodite's face. The goddess's hair is pulled back from her forehead, with strands arranged above, topped by a tuft of hair or perhaps a coiffed updo.
The clay on this loom weight is green with vegetal inclusions and black inclusions (perhaps organic).
