Head of a Lion

about 310 B.C.
A head of a lion. His eyes are deeply set and toward the inner corners are overhung by baggy skin. The nose is broad and flat; the open mouth displays two molars and four incisors on each side and a thrust-out tongue. The remnants of his flaring mane are still visible on either side of the head. A large portion of the right side and top of the head are missing.
