Fragment of an Attic Red-Figure Vase in the form of a Satyr holding a Keras (comprised of 20 joined fragments)

Red-figure 500–490 B.C.
Body of vessel and part of handle. The lower section preserves parts of the sculpted satyr who holds a drinking horn (part of the left arm and a small section of the face). The keras is decorated with a long-necked bird in flight. Above, and holding the bird's neck, is a winged figure (Eros) who holds a branch (? - long stem with circular appendages, some of which bear traces of white (fruit?)). Running just below the mouth: band of swastika meander with diagonally crossed and dotted square. Interior of keras: glazed. Lower section of vessel is unglazed inside.
