Fragment of a Mold for Arretine Bowl

27 BCE–14 CE
Preserving nearly half of a mold for a relief-decorated terracotta bowl, these joining fragments show women and youths reclining at a symposium. On one side, a woman passes a bowl or cup to a youth, whom another youth reaches over to crown with a garland or wreath. A third youth reclines beside them, and a second woman sits on the next couch, looking away and holding a lyre on her raised knee. Above, within a stamped rectangle, appears the signature M. PERENN | TIGAANI.
