Size and linear ornament suggest that this is from a large open vase, perhaps a neck-amphora or a stamnos. Series of thin, horizonal bands with a heavier band below, probably the resutl of painting the slip with a dry brush. Below this, the crown and upper face of a satyr. The eye appears darker than the rest of the head, due to a thicker application of gloss. Details incised.
