Corinthian Aryballos

Goateed Siren Painter · Aryballos · 570–550 B.C.
Flat-bottomed aryballos with a strap handle. On the body, a siren facing left with wings outstretched. Added red (some of the red looks like misfired black, some appears modern). Under the handle, two waterbirds, each facing the siren. Rosette and dots above them.
The flat upper surface of the mouth is decorated with a broad black band, and a narrow one at its outer edge. On the shoulder, tongue pattern, and two concentric lines. Ground line under the figures, and a second band around the base. Two concentric rings on the underside.
