Attic Red-Figure Oinochoe (Shape 3)

Red-figure Oinochoe · about 350 B.C.
The vase is intact. On the left, a woman carries an offering dish or basket to an altar before a central herm in profile to the left. The woman gestures with her left hand, and appears to hold a utensil. On the right, a youth in a chlamys moving to the right looks back; he holds an oinochoe or bunch of grapes (?) in his right hand. A roughly ovoid patch of reserve, presumably once painted or otherwise detailed, is below. Most details were added in dilute glaze or white, now mostly worn away.
