Attic Red-Figure Kylix Fragment

Red-figure Foundry Painter · Kylix · about 480–470 B.C.
Exterior: preserves folds of himatia with broad black borders and widely spaced dots strewn over the surface, the left thigh and calf of a komast to left, and the left forearm and hand supporting a skyphos held by a komast to right. Below the skyphos is the rim and neck of a column-krater, presumably one standing on the ground. Interior: part of the stopped-meander pattern of the tondo border.
