Attic Red-Figure Dinos Rim Fragment

Red-figure Kleophrades Painter · Dinos · 500–480 B.C.
Small section of rim. On the top surface, two reclining revelers, partially preserved. Of the figure on the left, only his wreathed head, left shoulder and right hand remain, but what survives suggests that he might have been singing. The figure on the right is largely complete except for his head and left shoulder. He holds out a kylix with his right hand. The cup has a nipple for a foot, and traces of added red indicate spilling wine. On the outer edge of the fragment is a row of addorsed ivy leaves separated by a wavy line. On the interior is red-figure frieze of horizontal encircled palmettes. Belongs with 81.AE.179 and 76.AE.132.2.a-.e
