Attic Head Vase

SABOUROFF CLASS · about 470 B.C.
Vessel in the form of a pitcher with high handle atop a mold-made woman's head. Two bands of relief dots suggest the woman's hair, enclosed by a head-covering. She wears a white wreath (painted on the black surface of the vessel). Her eyes and brows are rendered with black, and a narrow band runs around the base.
