Attic Black-Figure Neck Amphora

Both sides of this amphora feature Amazons on horseback, riding to the right, with long hair, short chitons, mantels, and high-crested helmets; each carries two spears and is accompanied by a hunting dog. The amphora is decorated with tongues on the shoulder, palmettes around the neck, a lotus design under the handles, and a frieze of rays with a lotus motif around the foot. Added white and purple paint; graffito underfoot.
