Attic Black-Figure Lip Cup

Exterior, A: rider between two running youths. In the middle, a youth in a short chiton rides a horse to the right. Beind the horse, a naked youth running to the right. Another youth runs to the right before the horse and looks back.
Exterior, B: rider and youth. On the left, a youth in a short chiton riding a horse to the right. Before the horse, a youth walking to right and looking back. He carries his garment folded over his left arm.
In the handle zones of both A and B, a 'meaningless' inscription.
Interior: black. The tondo is reserved, and has a black ring within.

The cup has a deep bowl, with a lip sharply offset on the interior and tooled on the exterior. There is a reserved line on the inside of the lip; the edge itself is black. There is one black line on the exterior, just below the offset of the lip. The handles are black on the outside only, with upright open palmettes on either side. Below the handle zone, the black lower part of the bowl is divided by a narrow reserved band. The bottom of the bowl is black, and there is a narrow black fillet, with an incised lower border, between the bowl and the top of the stem. The exterior of the foot is black excecpt for its edge.
