Attic Black-Figure Eye Cup Fragment

Black-figure Kylix · about 520–500 B.C.
Rim fragment (composed of two), from an eye-cup of type A. Reserved line on the inside of the lip; the edge is black. On the exterior, a line below the lip. On the left edge of the fragment, edge of eye and eyebrow. Dionysos rests on a pillow, has a wreath in his hair, and wears a himation. There are two horizontal lines in added white below his left hand, perhaps cakes. In the field, vines with clusters of grapes.
