An amphora of thickset proportions and heavy make with round handles. At the top of the decorative panels, a border of hanging, open lotus buds with dots between the tendrils. On side A: Quadriga turning to the right. Charioteer is a youth and wears a long white chiton and has a fillet in his hair. Next to him in the chariot box stands a warrior, mostly hidden from view, who carries a shield on his back and wears a low-crested helmet. The surface is dented near the foremost horse’s elbow, resulting in a bright orange misfire. Side B: Dionysos, with an ivy wreath in his hair and a drinking horn in his hand, mounted on a mule flanked by two dancing satyrs; in the field vines.
