Attic Black-Figure Amphora Fragment

Black-figure Amphora · about 550–500 B.C.
Male warrior facing right, partially preserved. He wears a breastplate and holds a shield over his left arm, his right arm (missing) likely raised; traces of added white on the shoulder and arm. A sword in its scabbard (with added white) hangs from his left hip. At lower left, a curled line with a white and black end (lion’s tail?) and part of a black object with a flat edge. Interior undecorated.
