Aryballos

Aryballos · 6th–4th century B.C.
Core-formed aryballos of cobalt blue glass wound and decorated with vertically combed threads of opaque yellow and turquoise to create zigzaged and feathered motifs. Bellow are two yellow threads flanking a turquoise thread. The bottom has a yellow dot surrounded by a turquoise ring. The rim is in added turquoise with a dark-blue thread wrapped around its edge. Two "dolphin" handles form loops under the rim, one dark-blue, the other yellow.
