2. of things, close union, combination, Hp. Art. 14, Pl. R. 508a, Thphr. Sens. 73; ὁ τῆς ς. τῆς τούτων ἀριθμός the number of their combinations, Arist. Pol. 1290b32; τοσαῦτ’ εἴδη . . ὅσαιπερ αἱ ς. τῶν μορίων ib.36; αἱ μέχρι πλείονος τῶν ἄρθρων ς. the confinement of the joints in swaddling clothes, Sor. 1.84.
