2. overheat, inflame, [ὁ οἶνος] ς. τὰς φλέβας Hp. Aër. 9; ταῦτα ς. τὴν κοιλίην Id. VM 10, cf. Gal. 15.559:—Pass., τὸ συγκεκαυμένον Prodic. 4; κοιλίη συνεκαύθη Hp. Epid. 1.26.δ/:—intr. in Act., κοιλίαι συγκαίειν ἀγαθαί liable to inflame, Id.Aër. 7.
