A. turn up the nose, and metaph.,= μέμφομαι (cf. σιμός 1.2), Hsch.
II. generally, bend upwards, τὴν ἰγνύαν Hld. 10.31; τὸν αὐχένα, τὰ νῶτα, Ach.Tat. 1.12:—Pass., become σιμός, Hp. Art. 35; of the nose, Id. Epid. 6.1.3; πόδες σεσιμωμένοι upturned feet, as of some wading birds, Arist. PA 693a7, cf. Hp. Art. 60.
