A. thorn-hedge, S. Fr. 812 (pl.), X. Cyn. 10.7, cf. Poll. 1.225; in Hdt. l.c., ῥηχός is prob. palisade or wattled fence; brushwood, ῥαχὸς (Dor. acc. pl.) καὶ φρύγανα GDI 5027 (Crete).
