προσοικέω

A. dwell by or near, οἱ προσοικοῦντες neighbouring tribes, Isoc. 6.46; πόλεσι βάρβαροι ‐οικοῦντες X. Vect. 1.8; ποταμοῖς καὶ θαλάττῃ, of towns, lie by or near, Pl. Ti. 22d:— also Pass., τῇ πόλει ‐ῳκημένοι J. BJ 4.4.3.

b. π. πρὸς τῷ τοίχῳ has his house abutting on the wall, OGI 483.105 (Pergam.).

2. c. acc., dwell in or near, [Ἐπίδαμνον] Th. 1.24; λίμνας καὶ ἕλη Arist. Pol. 1256a37.
