A. handle of a shield, B. Fr. 3.6, S. Aj. 576, E. Ph. 1127, etc.; prob. ring or loop, inside the shield, which could be taken out at pleasure, ἔχουσι πόρπακας [αἱ ἀσπίδες], i.e. they are ready for use, Ar. Eq. 858, cf. 849, and Sch. ad loc.
II. part of the headgear of a horse, E. Rh. 385 (anap.).
III. surgical fibula, Hippiatr. 24 (pl.).
