2. = πολύφατος, θρῆνος πολύφαμος Pi. I. 8(7).64.
II. manyvoiced, wordy, ἀγορὴν πολύφημον ἱκέσθην Od. 2.150; ἐς πολύφημον ἐξενεῖκαι to bring it forth to the many-voiced, i.e. the agora (the 'parliament'), Orac. ap. Hdt. 5.79.
III. much spoken of, famous, ὁδός Parm. 1.2; ὁ π. καὶ πολυώνυμος σοφός Ph. 1.371.
