περιάγνυμι

A. περιεαγώς Inscr.Délos 396 B 86 (ii B. C.):—bend and break all round, τὸν βραχίονα Chio l. c.; κρημνοῖς τὰς ναῦς π. wreck the ships upon them, App. BC 2.150 :—Pass., ὅσσους . . μέλαν περιάγνυται ὕδωρ A.R. 2.791.

2. once in Hom., of sound, ὂψ περιάγνυται the voice is broken all round, i. e. spreads all round, Il. 16.78; περὶ δέ σφισιν ἄγνυτο ἠχώ echo broke forth around them, Hes. Sc. 279.
