A. stitch, sew together like a shoemaker, Pl. Euthd. 294b; πέδιλα Nic. Fr. 85.6:—Med. (nisi leg. καττύομεν), Pherecr. 178.
II. metaph., stitch up a plot, οἶδ’ ἐγὼ τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦθ’ ὅθεν πάλαι καττύεται (says Cleon the tanner), I know the shop that this piece of leather comes from, Ar. Eq. 314; καττύειν διαβολάς Alciphr. 3.58.
