A. surgeon who practises by anointing, friction, and the like, Plin. Ep. 10.5(4), Cels. 1.1, Gal. 13.104, Paul.Aeg. 3.47:—hence ἰατρ‐αλειπτική (sc. τέχνη), practice of an ἰατραλείπτης, Plin. HN 29.4.
