II. θαλαμιά, Ion. ‐ιή (sc. κώπη), ἡ, the oar of the θαλαμίτης, Ar. Ach. 553 (pl.): pl., IG 22.1604.55.
2. (sc. ὀπή) the hole in the ship's side, through which this oar worked, διὰ θαλαμιῆς διελεῖν τινα to place a man so that his upper half projected through this hole, Hdt. 5.33: metaph., Ar. Pax 1232.
