ἡλιόομαι

A. live in the sun, be exposed to the sun, ἡλιωμένος, opp. ἐσκιατροφηκώς, Pl. R. 556d; of Places, ὅπως ἡ γῆ ἡλιωθῇ Thphr. CP 3.4.1, cf. HP 1.10.3; τὰ ἡλιούμενα parts exposed to the sun, X. Oec. 19.18; ‐ούμενος ἀήρ Ath.Med. ap. Orib. 9.5.1.
2. to be sun-struck, ἡλιοῦσθαι τὴν κεφαλήν Hp. Aër. 3; or sunburnt, Muson. Fr. 19p.107H.
3. to be illuminated by the sunlight, Arist. de An. 419b31, Pr. 913a22:—late in Act. ἡλιόω, place in the sun, Aët. 1.102, 112, al.
