2. base of operations against, κατὰ Κύπρου App. Syr. 52.
II. in the Logic of Arist., attempted, i.e. dialectical proof, opp. a demonstrative syllogism (φιλοσόφημα), Top. 162a16, etc.: so in Rhet., [Cic.]ad Herenn. 2.2.2, D.H. Din. 6, Is. 16, Demetr.Lac. 1055.18 F, Hermog. Inv. 3.4, Gal. 5.221, etc.; περὶ ‐ημάτων, title of work by Minucianus.
