ἐπιστέφω

A. filled them with wine, Il. 1.470, Od. 1.148, etc. (variously expld., cf. Ath. 1.13d, 15.674e, and ἐκστέφω 1).
II. . to be full of or covered with, τράπεσδαι μακωνίδων ἄρτων ἐπιστέφοισαι Alcm. 74 B.
III. . χοὰς ἐ. τινί pour libations as an honour to the dead, S. El. 441.
IV. . Med., wreathe, ἄνθεϊ χαίτην Nonn. D. 47.11:—also in Act., crown, surround, κύμασι Παταλήνην ib.27.158.
