ἐπιδινέω

A. whirl for the throw, swing round before throwing, ῥῖψ’ ἐπιδινήσας Il. 3.378, cf. Od. 9.538, etc.:—Med., turn over in one's mind, resolve, ἐμοὶ τόδε θυμὸς πόλλ’ ἐπιδινεῖται 20.218:—Pass., wheel about, as birds in the air, 2.151; Σιληνοὶ . . ὄθμασι δινήθησαν ἔπι Nic. Al. 33; so ἐπιδινεῖν αὑτούς, of drones, Arist. HA 624a24.
