A. marry besides, ἐ. πόσει πόσιν wed one husband after another, E. Or. 589; τῇ θυγατρὶ ἐ. τὴν μητέρα marry the mother after the daughter, And. 1.128; ἐ. τέκνοις μητρυιάν marry and set a stepmother over one's children, E. Alc. 305, cf. Plu.
