2. seemingly intr. (sc. τάξιν), ἐ. ἀπὸ σφῶν extend the line of battle (by taking ground to right or left), Th. 5.71; of ships, ἐ. τῷ πλῷ πρὸς τὴν γῆν extend his line by sailing towards land, Id. 7.52.
