II. Pass., with fut. Med. (Hdt. 3.62, 1.89), aor. 2 and pf. Act., stand up after another or at his word, once in Hom., οἱ δ’ ἐπανέστησαν Il. 2.85.
b. rise from bed, rise, Ar. Pl. 539; ἐπὶ τοῦ καταστρώματος X. HG 1.4.18; rise to speak, Id. Smp. 4.2, D. 19.46; of buildings, in pf., to be raised or built, ἢν τοῦτ’ ἐπανεστήκῃ Ar. 3. Medic., of tumours, etc., rise, swell, Hp. Prorrh. 1.165; [ὦτα] ἐπανεστηκότα projecting, prorninent, Arist. PA 691a13; λόφος αὐτῶν τῶν πτερῶν ἐ. crest which sticks up and is composed of feathers, Id. HA 504b10.
