ἐξώστρα

A. stage-machine identified with the ἐκκύκλημα (q. v.) by Hsch. and Poll. 4.127, but distd. from it, ib.129: metaph., τῆς τύχης ἐπὶ τὴν ἐ. ἀναβιβαζούσης τὴν ὑμετέραν ἄγνοιαν Plb. 11.5.8:—also ἔξ‐ωστρον, τό, IG 11(2).199 A 95 (pl., Delos, iii B. C.).
