ἐξεγγυάω

A. give up a slave on security to be examined, Antipho 5.47; free one by giving bail for him, D. 24.73:—Pass., to be bailed, ἐξεγγυηθέντες κριθῆναι And. 1.44, cf. D. 19.169; ἐφ’ οἷς ἐξηγγυήθη [to fulfil the conditions] on which security was given, Lys. 23.10.
