to be immanent or inherent, τὸ πρῶτον ἐ., = ὕλη, Arist. Ph. 193a10, cf. 194b24; ἐν ἅπαντι χρόνῳ τὸ [νῦν] ἐ. ib.233b35; ἐξ ὧν (sc. στοιχείων)ἔστι τὰ ὄντα ἐνυπαρχόντων the inherence whereof is the cause of existences, Id. Metaph. 998a31, cf. 1014a26, Plot. 5.3.11, Jul. Or. 4.140c, etc.
