2. to be conspicuous or famous, A. Ch. 356 (lyr.), E. Heracl. 407; ἀνδράσι for men, Pi. P. 8.28; ἄλγεσι S. El. 1187; ἐσθήμασι Id. Fr. 769; ἐν ὅπλοις δεινῶς ἐ. D.C. 40.41; ἐνέπρεπον ἔχοντες . . Hdt. 7.67,83.

3. suit, τῇ φωνῇ καὶ τὴν τραυλότητα ἐμπρέψαι λέγουσι Plu. Alc. 1: impers., it is fitting or suitable, c. inf., Hld. 5.8.
